AIMS

This comprehensive course will provide the basic skills for interpretation of the most common hematological disorders in dogs and cats.

Participants will learn how to review blood smears and develop a logic diagnostic approach to the alterations of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. All this will be achieved through a case-based approach.

OBJECTIVES

Hematology sampling techniques, overview of the different types of hematology analysers and approach to blood smear examination.

Red blood cell morphological abnormalities and diagnostic approach to anaemia.

The white blood cells: morphological and numerical alterations.

Platelets and their most common related disorders.
