Ms. Eleanor Haskey, BSc (Hons), RVN, VTS (ECC), PgCert VetEd, is a Registered Veterinary Nurse and Senior Anaesthesia Nurse at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), University of London, one of the world's leading veterinary institutions. She is an internationally recognized specialist in veterinary emergency and critical care nursing, with extensive expertise in anaesthesia, intensive care, clinical education, and veterinary nursing leadership.
Ms. Haskey graduated with an Honours Degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Administration from the University of Bristol in 2008. After beginning her career in mixed practice, she returned to the University of Bristol as Senior Intensive Care Unit Nurse, where she developed her expertise in emergency and critical care and, in 2012, achieved the prestigious Veterinary Technician Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care (VTS-ECC) qualification.
In 2013, Ms. Haskey joined the Royal Veterinary College as Senior Emergency and Critical Care Nurse and was subsequently promoted to Head Emergency and Critical Care Nurse, leading one of the United Kingdom's busiest specialist ECC nursing teams. During this period, she combined advanced clinical practice with leadership, mentoring, and the development of high standards in emergency and critical care nursing.
Committed to lifelong learning and professional development, Ms. Haskey completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Education in 2019, further strengthening her expertise in teaching and mentoring veterinary students and nurses. In 2020, she returned to full-time clinical practice to focus on patient care, and in 2023 joined the Anaesthesia Service at the Royal Veterinary College, where she continues to expand her expertise in veterinary anaesthesia while supervising and mentoring veterinary and veterinary nursing students during their clinical rotations.
An experienced educator and invited speaker, Ms. Haskey has a particular interest in emergency and critical care nursing, anaesthesia, patient safety, nursing leadership, and clinical education. Through her clinical work, teaching, and mentorship, she remains dedicated to advancing veterinary nursing standards, promoting excellence in patient care, and inspiring the next generation of veterinary nurses.
